"Cat Meat" Rumors, Chinese Food, and Ring Tones
On the way home last night from work I had a craving for Chinese food. I decided to order, for pick up, Kung Pao Chicken and fried Rangoon’s. 10 minutes later (of course) I am waiting in line to pick up my order. I wasn’t the only one craving Chinese on this cold balmy evening. At the counter, with a line behind me I tell the lady I am here for my food. As I give her my last name my cell phone goes off!! At this moment every one in line behind me and the people behind the counter had some funny looks on their faces. Ok now this is some funny ass shit. Why is it funny? Well let’s start with a world-renowned rumor about Chinese food. “That wasn’t chicken you just ate!!” The rumor is they use cat meat. We all know the rumor right?!?!? I would assume most of us do, if not you, lets just say 95% of the people waiting in line and working behind the counter at the restaurant were aware of the “Cat meat” rumor. “Ok?” you may ask. How is my cell phone ringing have any relation with a “Cat meat” rumor and people with funny looks on their faces? You see my cell phone has a “ Caller Group” ring option and when any of my friends call the ring tone I have set for them is a mewing cat!!!! That is right so everyone was looking around like “What the hell is that?!?!?!” I knew what it was and started laughing my ass off. As I answer "hello" everyone else started laughing as well!! The lady behind the counter gave me a look that could kill a cat.
