It seems to me I can only get the pretty ones published

So my wife writes for our local newspaper and she has been asking me to submit one of my poems. I submitted the "Bring on Spring" poem that I posted on my blog Thursday marsh 31st. Believe it or not I have been published (diffrent publication then the newspaper) and was paid for several of poems in the past, but only the pretty ones. People only seem to like/want the Hallmark card poems. The uplifting positive spin that are written with easy adjectives and simplistic perspective. I find happiness in depression and confusion , I know there are more people out there like me. Ohh well just wanted to share my little bit of pressed print. Sorry for the crap scan.
